Amsterdam, The Netherlands – June 22, 2026 — Sportway NL and the Nevobo (Dutch Volleyball Federation) today announce a long-term partnership for the launch of Volleybal TV: a new video platform developed to make Dutch volleyball structurally visible across its full breadth.
Volleybal TV is an initiative of the Nevobo and Sportway NL to install AI-camera systems at volleyball clubs throughout the Netherlands. The shared ambition is to give around 100 clubs access to a professional media solution in the coming years, without clubs bearing any financial risk or having to make investments themselves.
Livestreams, short clips and analysis
The partnership supports Nevobo’s broader ambition to strengthen the visibility, sporting development and digitalisation of volleyball. “Visibility is a fundamental building block of volleyball,” says Martin van Berkel, Communications & Media Manager at Nevobo. “Volleybal TV offers a solution to greatly increase the visibility and experience of the sport, both inside and outside the walls of the sports halls, through livestreams and short clips. That is valuable for members, parents and fans, but also for sponsors and for reaching new audiences. In addition, Volleybal TV makes it possible to work on player development through analysis options. It is a great opportunity to bring volleyball into structural, high-quality view together with Sportway NL and the clubs, from the first teams down to the B3 youth teams.”
Free participation for clubs
Sportway NL handles the complete execution of Volleybal TV. This means that participation is free for clubs: they do not have to invest themselves in cameras, technology or their own operational organisation. Clubs with teams in the Superdivisie, Topdivisie and Eerste Divisie will be the first to be invited to take part.
Sportway Media Group brings extensive international experience in large-scale productions in volleyball and other sports. This proven international experience forms the foundation for the rollout of Volleybal TV in the Netherlands.
“Our goal is not to broadcast matches incidentally, but to build a structural media infrastructure for Dutch club volleyball,” says Karl Breukink, CEO of Sportway NL. “The strength of this model lies in the combination of scale, technology and execution. We take on the investment, operations and technical complexity, so that clubs can become part of a nationwide media infrastructure without facing any barriers to entry. In the Netherlands, volleyball has the organisational strength, culture and scale to successfully realise a project like this on a national scale.”
“Volleyball is one of the first three sports we have selected in the Netherlands to bring into structural view on a large scale,” says Daniel Franck, CEO of Sportway Media Group. “Volleyball has a strong club structure, engaged communities and great digital potential. In the Netherlands, we have the local market knowledge and operational strength to deploy our international experience effectively for Dutch volleyball.”
Privacy and GDPR
In the development and rollout of Volleybal TV, the careful handling of privacy is central. The Nevobo and Sportway NL act in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means, among other things, that those involved, such as players, coaches and officials, are clearly informed in advance about the recording and publication of footage. Clubs receive clear guidelines and support to set up this process. With this approach, the Nevobo and Sportway NL aim to safeguard transparency and trust.
