KNZB and Sportway Netherlands to bring live coverage of all six Dutch Eredivisie water polo competitions

Amsterdam, 22 April 2026 — The KNZB and Sportway NL announce a long-term partnership under which, starting next season, all matches across six Eredivisie water polo competitions will be fully produced and distributed using AI-driven camera technology. These include the Eredivisie women and men, Eredivisie U18 women and men, and Eredivisie U16 women and men.

Under this partnership, matches will be produced and centrally distributed via a single platform, combining AI-driven camera technology with existing production setups at clubs. This creates a consistent and scalable media solution for the full Eredivisie structure within Dutch water polo.

The rollout will take place in close collaboration with the clubs and will build on existing production where available. This will be further developed in the coming period, with the objective of achieving full coverage of these competitions from next season onwards.

“This step ensures structural visibility for our highest competitions, including youth. That is essential for player development, the positioning of the competition and engagement with supporters,” said Arnoud Strijbis, CEO of the KNZB.

“We are building a scalable media infrastructure for Dutch water polo,” said Karl Breukink, CEO of Sportway NL. “By centrally producing and distributing these competitions, we ensure quality and continuity. We take on the investment and operational model, allowing clubs to participate without financial barriers.”

“Water polo is a sport where we are scaling internationally,” said Daniel Franck, CEO of Sportway Media Group. “Through our role in the European Aquatics TV platform, we are building a consistent international infrastructure for the sport. This partnership with the KNZB directly supports that strategy and strengthens the development and visibility of water polo.”

The partnership initially focuses on these six Eredivisie competitions. KNZB and Sportway NL also share the ambition to expand this model to grassroots water polo over time.
